Public Trail Riding

General Information

Enjoy a scenic, guided trail ride through the picturesque Dingman Creek Valley. Rolling hills and wooded trails offer beautiful views across 220 acres of natural terrain. We have a variety of horses and ponies suited to both beginner and experienced riders.

We offer one-hour trail rides throughout the spring and fall seasons.
All rides must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance.

2025 Fall Pricing

$73.00 + HST = $82.49 per person
• One-hour trail ride
• Ages 9 and up

Cancellations & No-Shows

Please call at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel your booking. We understand that plans can change; however, staff and horses are prepared specifically for your scheduled ride.

No refunds will be issued for no-shows.

Rider Requirements

  • Maximum rider weight: 180 lbs

  • This limit is firm and cannot be accommodated

Ride Times

  • 9:45 – 11:00 am

  • 12:30 – 1:45 pm

  • 2:30 – 3:45 pm

Please arrive on time. During the first 15 minutes, we will:

  • Fit your helmet

  • Assign your horse based on ability

  • Provide a short riding lesson before heading out on the trail

Footwear (Required)

All riders must wear closed-toed shoes with:

  • A 1.5 cm heel (e.g., cowboy boots or similar)

  • A narrow sole that fits securely in the stirrups (approximately 11.5 cm wide)

The following footwear will not be accepted:

  • Sandals or Crocs

  • Open-toed shoes

  • Flimsy running shoes

  • Wide-toed footwear

Pony Rides

We offer 1/2 hour hand-led pony rides for children aged 3 to 10. One of our knowledgeable staff will lead the pony while a parent walks beside the child. This safely introduces youngsters to horseback riding on our small and friendly ponies in an outdoor setting. Helmets are provided.

2025 Fall Cost:

$53.50 + HST = $60.45 per child per half hour

Parent & Tot Riding Lessons

Series of 3 × 45-minute progressive lessons

Ages 5–7

This program is a fun, safe, and interactive introduction to riding for our youngest participants. Parents or caregivers participate alongside their child. No prior horse experience is required.

Schedule

  • 3 Sundays, 10:00 – 10:45 am or 11:15 am - 12:00 pm

  • Dates: June 7, June 14, and June 21

Spring 2026 Cost

  • $175 + HST for the full 3-lesson series

Learn to Ride Western

Progressive riding lessons designed to build confidence, skill, and a meaningful partnership with horses. This is a non-competitive program where connecting with horses, and spending time in the natural environment are among our goals. Lessons take place outdoors, in the horse corral and trail riding through our picturesque trails.

Youth Riding Lessons

Series of 4 × 1.5-hour progressive lessons

Our youth riding programs offer a safe, supportive, and fun environment where young riders can build confidence and develop strong horsemanship skills with qualified instructors.

Each lesson includes:

  • An instructional trail ride

  • A ground session covering horsemanship skills

Level 1

Ages 8 and up

This introductory program teaches the fundamentals of riding and horsemanship in a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere.

Focus Areas Include

  • Proper mounting and dismounting

  • Correct riding position

  • How to walk, stop, and steer safely

  • Basic horse communication

  • Horse parts, markings, equipment, and key horsemanship terms

Schedule

  • Saturdays, 10:00 – 11:30 am or 12:30 - 2:00 pm

  • Dates: May 23, May 30, June 13 and June 20

Spring 2026 Cost

  • $408 + HST for the full 4-lesson series

Level 2

Ages 9 and up
(Completion of Level 1 and/or attendance at our summer camp required)

Building on the foundation from Level 1, riders continue to develop independence and consistency in the saddle. When ready, students will be introduced to the trot.

Focus Areas Include

  • Maintaining proper riding position

  • Independent riding

  • Introduction to trotting

  • Grooming and basic horse care

  • Expanding knowledge of equipment and horse terminology

  • Sundays, 10:00 – 11:30 am or 12:30 – 2:00 pm

  • Dates: May 24, May 31, June 14 and June 21

  • $408 + HST for the full 4-lesson series

Level 3

Ages 9 and up
(Completion of Level 2 required)

Level 3 riders continue to refine their skills and deepen their understanding of horses.

Focus Areas Include

  • Progressive groundwork

  • Horse safety and handling

  • Understanding herd dynamics

  • Practicing calm for connection

  • Sundays, 2:30 – 4:00 pm

  • Dates: May 24, May 31, June 14 and June 21

Adult Riding Lessons

Series of 4 × 1.5-hour progressive lessons

Horses are our partners, our teachers, and our friends. This adult program is designed to deepen your understanding of horses and introduce you to western pleasure trail riding. Lessons focus on building confidence in handling and riding horses, and learning from our equine teachers.

Lessons Include

  • A practical horsemanship (ground) session

  • An instructional trail ride

Rider Requirements

  • Maximum rider weight: 180 lbs
